Sandy Malamed was born in the glass making town of Corning, New. The former advance practice nurse is a self-taught artist who has been pursuing her work in art full time beginning in 2006. Her diverse body of work ranges from porcelain sculpture and functional wares, to narrative fiber works, and found art assemblages.
