Seattle artist Gregory L. Blackstock (American, b. 1946) creates order in his world by identifying like objects and cataloging them in neat rows and columns in his drawings. The ultimate organizer, he documents what he sees in precise images and words that fill the page. Blackstock is autistic with savant skills, and he has an amazing memory for scientific, geographic, and visual details. His subjects include birds, buildings, burros, accordions, artichokes, automobiles, carrots, cauliflowers, cougars—and so much more. Once he chooses a subject, he seeks to record all the variations within that group to make the artwork “complete.” Contains five each of the following notecards: The Great World Parrots Complete, 2014 The Great World Penguins, 2013 The Great World Mynabirds, 2013 The Great Americas Jays, 2012. 20 blank notecards (5 each of 4 designs) with envelopes in a decorative box.
