Shaila is the amazing creator of these hand embroidered pillows. India is well known for its handmade textiles. The variety of traditional textiles and range of products is immense. She developed a passion for Indian textiles as a child when she traveled with her mother to observe these great craftsman at work. This and the enthusiasm of the craftsman producing them, inspired them to start Natural Habitat.
This collection of embroidered pillows are made in Kashmir, using the traditional hand-craft of chainstitch embroidery known as crewel. This specific collection of pillows are inspired by the works of Sonia and Robert Delaunay and their experiments with color and design. Orphic or Orphic Cubism is an offshoot of Cubism that focuses on abstract forms and bright colors. Considered to be a key transition from Cubism to Abstract Art. Made using the chain-stitch method, known as Crewel Stitching, this pillow is sure to feel great. Made with a canvas back, with two buttons to keep closure.
