Sue Kasdon’s mother was a skilled potter and made beautiful sculptures in red clay.
Making clay animals with her is a favorite childhood memory. As a young adult Sue
concentrated in printmaking but later found her way to ceramics. For many years she
was an art teacher, surrounded by children immersed in art. She finds that entering the
studio is a portal back to childhood, with the same absorption in creative play. A hand
builder, with a focus on cats, every piece different. She strives to bring vitality to the
pieces with pattern and detail and to express a feeling of joy and mystery.
