Sherry is a self-taught artist fabricating unique wearable art since the early 1980’s beginning with shows at the
legendary Obiko boutique in San Francisco, a feature in Ornament Magazine’s 10th Anniversary edition and eye wear
purchase by Elton John. Originality, with an eye on sustainability, are her guiding principles.
Today’s collection of one-of-a-kind “wearable artifacts”--including neck pieces, pendants,
earrings and brooches—honors textile artisans and cultures from around the Globe.
Pieces have been selected for museum shops in the Asian Art Museum San Francisco, the
Fowler at UCLA & Visions Museum of Textile Art in San Diego. She delights in creating
fresh design stories by combining specific portions of recycled vintage, contemporary,
woven, printed and hand-dyed panels, scraps and remnants. She hopes that her joy is
transferred to the wearer, along with the essential affirmation etched onto the inset disk that
finishes the backsides: “We Are All Connected”
