Each portrait is created freehand on the sewing machine. They manipulate the needle on the canvas to draw each mark, value, and detail. this Flammulated Owl is based on an ink drawing that was created from a photograph. Each bird is unique each time despite having similar features. Stitched in black on heavy-duty cotton duck canvas fabric and is stretched in a 6” wooden embroidery hoop, ready to hang! Canvas permanently adheres with heavy-duty two-sided tape.
