Carved wooden sculpture of a Kingfisher with a small fish in mouth.

MEMBERS' PRICE: $180.00

Lonnie and Twyla Money were both born in Laurel County, Kentucky. Lonnie is descended from Jacob Money, a 19th Century Swiss immigrant who had been a wood carver in the old country. Twyla Darty, whose family has farmed in Kentucky for generations grew up a mile away from the house and hilly farm where she and Lonnie live now on Money Road. Carving out of wood, the Moneys paint and sculpt a colorful Kingfisher with a fish in its mouth, standing on a piece of Driftwood.

Dimensions:

  • 8" x 5.5" x 14.5"

Material:

  • Made of wood

Design:

  • Handmade
  • Created by Lonnie and Twyla Money

  • Made in East Bernstadt, Kentucky

Care:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth or a soft-bristled brush to remove dust regularly.
  • For detailed areas, a small paintbrush works well.
  • Avoid water or harsh cleaners; they can damage the paint or wood.
  • If needed, wipe lightly with a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent paint fading.
  • Avoid placing near heat sources that could dry out or warp the wood.
  • Display in a dry environment; excessive humidity can cause the wood to swell or paint to peel.
