Sandy Malamed was born in the glass-making town of Corning, New. The former advanced practice nurse is a self-taught artist who has been pursuing her work in art full time beginning in 2006. Her diverse body of work ranges from porcelain sculpture and functional wares to narrative fiber works and found art assemblages. She then started creating art work, from drinking cup to quilts.
